Portfolio Bootcamp
Build an admission-ready portfolio in six weeks, with weekly critique, for school leavers applying to creative-arts degrees anywhere.
Most creative-arts admissions ask for a portfolio, and most applicants have never been told what goes in one. The bootcamp builds one in six weeks: observational drawing, a small set of idea-led projects and the process work behind them, shaped for the programmes you’re applying to.
Each week has studio sessions, homework and a critique from a practising designer, filmmaker or artist, run the way PGA juries run. The last session is a mock admission interview.
How it runs
Week 1: Seeing
Drawing from life: objects, people, places. The habit every panel looks for.
Week 2: Ideas
Setting yourself a brief and generating ideas quickly.
Weeks 3–4: Projects
Two or three projects in your chosen direction: design, film, animation, content or fine arts.
Week 5: Process and editing
Choosing what to include, showing process, photographing and captioning work.
Week 6: Presenting
A finished PDF or site and a mock interview with feedback.
What you leave with
- A portfolio of 10 to 20 pieces
- Process pages for key projects
- A PDF and a simple portfolio page
- Interview practice and written feedback
