Automotive & Transportation Design

This specialized industrial design course covers the aesthetics, mechanics, and ergonomics of vehicle design. Students will explore the entire pipeline from initial “napkin sketches” to 3D clay modeling and digital rendering. The curriculum looks beyond just cars, addressing the future of public transit, electric mobility (EVs), and autonomous systems.

§ 01 By the end you can
  1. Master the art of automotive sketching (perspective, wheelbases, reflections)
  2. Understand vehicle aerodynamics and packaging (engine/motor placement)
  3. Execute physical prototyping using industrial clay modeling techniques
  4. Create Class-A surfaces using digital tools (Alias/Rhino/Blender)
  5. Design sustainable solutions for future urban mobility systems
