§ 01 Overview

Pakistan’s first master’s in computer arts, launched by PGA in 2012 and rebuilt around AI. Two tracks: a creative track for practitioners and a media-management track for people who run creative businesses. Electives come from a bank of 370 courses, from AI-driven cinematography to Urdu calligraphy and printmaking, and every student finishes with a capstone defended before an industry jury.

§ 04 How you’re assessed

Nothing is accepted without the process behind it.

  1. Final project announced mid-semester, after the midterm.
  2. Developed in stages under your teacher: concept, drafts, iterations, execution.
  3. Internal jury: a full mock defence with faculty.
  4. Pasting day: your work is mounted or screened for review.
  5. External jury of working professionals, at least two per course, holding the final 40 marks.

§ 05 Level Up

Where this sits.

  1. 01Certificate4 months
  2. 02Diploma+ 6 months · 10 months total
  3. 03Associate Degree+ 1 year · 1 yr 10 mo total
  4. 04Bachelor’s+ 2 years · 3 yrs 10 mo total
  5. 05Postgraduate Diploma+ 1 year · 4 yrs 10 mo total
  6. 06Master’s+ 1 year · 5 yrs 10 mo total

Each step counts the credits you already hold, so a step takes less time than the programme on its own: a 1-year diploma takes about 6 more months after a certificate, a 4-year bachelor’s about 2 more years after an associate degree. Climbing every rung takes about 5 years 10 months, a few months more than a bachelor’s and a master’s taken back to back (about 5½ years). The point isn’t speed: you can stop at any rung with a recognised qualification, work, and come back for the next.

§ 06 Questions
How long is the MS AI Digital Arts & Creative Design?

1.5 years, over 3 semesters, for 42 credit hours.

Who can apply?

16 years of education or a 4-year degree (120+ credit hours), CGPA 2.5 or 60% (2.0 or 50% considered on test and interview), and at least 50% in the admission test. Graduates from other fields can enter with a strong portfolio and 9 to 15 deficiency credit hours.

Is this the same as the Masters in Computer Arts?

Yes. Masters in Computer Arts was the programme’s earlier name. It was renamed MS AI Digital Arts & Creative Design when PGA rebuilt its programmes around AI; older KIET transcripts may still use the earlier name.

Where is it taught?

At Salim Habib University and KIET. The programme is designed and run by PGA with each partner.

How is work assessed?

Every course ends with a final project developed in stages under a teacher, then defended before an internal jury and an external jury of working industry professionals. The external jury holds the final 40 marks.

What jobs does it lead to?

Graduates work as brand identity designer, art director, screenwriter, producer, 3d artist, social media manager, among other roles, in studios, agencies, media companies and their own businesses.

Can I continue to the next level?

Yes. Credits carry up the Level Up ladder, from certificate to master’s, so each step is shorter than the programme on its own (a diploma takes about 6 more months after a certificate). You can stop at any rung with a recognised qualification.
