Ceramic Sculpture

This course explores sculptural approaches in ceramics through hand-building, modeling, hollow-form construction, glazing, and kiln processes. Students learn ceramic material behavior, structural planning, and expressive 3D form development.

§ 01 By the end you can
  1. Apply hand-building, modeling, and hollow-form techniques for ceramic sculpture.
  2. Understand clay stages, drying behavior, firing cycles, and kiln safety.
  3. Develop sculptural forms with balance, proportion, and structural integrity.
  4. Experiment with textures, surface treatments, glazes, and oxides.
  5. Produce finished ceramic sculptures demonstrating concept, technique, and craftsmanship.
