3D Environment Artist
An environment artist does more than place trees; they are the architects of virtual worlds. This course teaches the “Modular Workflow,” where students create versatile kits of walls, floors, and props that can be assembled into vast, seamless levels. The curriculum emphasizes storytelling through “Set Dressing,” lighting for mood, and optimization techniques for game engines like Unreal or Unity.
§ 01 By the end you can
- Master the "Modular Workflow" to create snap-together asset kits
- Utilize "Trim Sheets" and Tileable Textures for efficiency
- Practice "Environmental Storytelling" (visual narrative) through set dressing
- Understand lighting strategies: Baked vs. Real-time (Lumen/Raytracing)
- Optimize scenes using LODs (Levels of Detail) and Occlusion Culling
