Virtual Reality and Immersive Photography

Photography has entered the third dimension. This advanced course goes beyond flat 360-degree panoramas to explore Stereoscopic 3D and Volumetric capture. Students will learn to create assets for VR headsets (like the Meta Quest or Apple Vision Pro), utilizing photogrammetry to turn physical objects into 3D models and shooting VR180 content that mimics human binocular vision.

§ 01 By the end you can
  1. Master Stereoscopic Photography: Shooting for depth perception (VR180/3D 360)
  2. Execute Photogrammetry workflows: Converting multiple still images into 3D meshes
  3. Understand "Six Degrees of Freedom" (6DoF) vs. "Three Degrees of Freedom" (3DoF)
  4. Author VR experiences using game engines (Unity/Unreal) for photographers
  5. Address user comfort: Preventing motion sickness in immersive environments
